About Us
Dedicated To Water Safety
An Homage to Sutro Baths
We were born and bred in San Francisco, and want to tip our collective hats to Adolf Sutro and the Sutro Baths (thus the name of our company, Sutro).
The Sutro Baths were once the largest public swimming pools in the world. They were built in 1894 and were destroyed in a large fire in 1966.
What remains are the ruins at Land's End on the Western most coast of San Francisco facing the Pacific Ocean. The location itself (here and now) gives Sutro a new outlook to water and it's relation to humans. Starting with swimming pools and spas, we hope to better understand water and how it changes around us.
Our Vision
Radically shift the way that humans consume, treat, and analyze water through sensors, data, and applications which allow us to sustainably ensure the safety of water for generations to come. A focus on impermanence allows us to ideate as users of water change.
