Safety Data Sheets
Saftey is paramount at Sutro, and we always aim to be transparent. Not only are we legally obliged to have the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) available to our users, but we also want to make it simple to understand.
The Safety Data Sheets below are for the Sutro Test Cartridge, which measures pH, free chlorine, bromine, and total alkalinity.
We have exactly 1mL of reagents in the Sutro Test Cartridge, and the reagents are very similar to what you would find in a regular 5-way Swimming Pool or Spa Liquid Test Kit. To put that in context, a standard liquid test kit that you may purchase online or from a pool store has 1oz of reagent - this is approximately 29 mL (milliliters). 29x more the amount that is in the Sutro Test Cartridge.
Like your water test kit, the chemicals (though the quantities are small) in the Cartridge causes burns, eye damage, is irritating to skin and eyes, and is harmful if swallowed.
Please DO NOT open the cartridge, individual syringes. In case of an emergency please dial 911 and get help immediately.
For first aid or if it's gotten in your eye. Flush with water, and rinse continuously for 15 minutes; remove contact lenses; if present and easy to do; remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.
If swallowed. Rinse mouth, drink plenty of water; do NOT induce vomiting; contact poison center or doctor/physician if you feel unwell.
Our reagents are manufactured by The LaMotte Company, a 100 year old water testing company out of Chestertown, Maryland as well as Taylor Water Technologies, a leading manufacturer of products for analyzing water chemistry.
